In the areas where yurts and temporary structures were erected during the event, a campaign was carried out to sow perennial lawn grasses. Before sowing, the area was cleared, prepared and levelled.
Perennial grasses adapted to the region’s natural and climatic conditions were selected for the restoration. The greening initiative is intended to help restore the soil cover and increase the amount of green space within the tract.
The initiative was organised by the Ministry of Culture, Information and Youth Policy in conjunction with the Ministry of Natural Resources, Ecology and Technical Supervision and local authorities.
The event was attended by the Deputy Minister of Culture, Askaraly Madaminov, participants in the ‘Shamal’ festival and local residents.
The organisers note that the restoration of the area forms part of measures to improve Kyrchyn, protect the environment and promote environmental awareness.
For a region that hosts major international events, such measures also have practical significance: once large-scale events have concluded, areas with temporary infrastructure must be restored to their original condition and the vegetation re-established.
