07/20/2026, 09:58The Kyrgyz Geological Service intends to assist in advancing the project to develop the Chaarat gold deposit in the Chatkal District of the Jalal-Abad Region. This matter was discussed at a working meeting with representatives of Chaarat ZAAV CJSC.
The company presented information on the current status of the project and highlighted issues requiring the involvement of state authorities to resolve. Following the meeting, the Geological Service stated its readiness, within the scope of its powers, to facilitate the project’s further implementation.
The parties agreed to continue working together and to identify specific measures that will help accelerate the development of the deposit.
The Chaarat project is considered one of Kyrgyzstan’s largest gold mining projects. It comprises the Tulkubash and Kyzyltash sites, and is being developed by Chaarat Gold. In recent years, the project has repeatedly received state support, and in February 2026, the Cabinet of Ministers approved a cooperation agreement with the Canadian company Silvercorp Metals, which joined the project in partnership with ‘Kyrgyzaltyn’. The total value of the deal was estimated at $162 million.
The Geological Service noted that the implementation of the project is of great importance for attracting investment, creating new jobs, increasing tax revenues and promoting the socio-economic development of the Chatkal District and the Jalal-Abad Region.
