09/10/2025, 16:10In Bishkek, demolition has begun on the Salam Baku café, located at the intersection of Ankara and Chokan Valikhanov streets. The capital city's land use control department explained that the lease on the 525-square-metre plot of land had expired.
Instead of extending the term, the commission unexpectedly refused. It turned out that the plot is located in a water protection zone.
At the same time, it was in this zone that the business had previously been granted a building permit. Now, the decision to dismantle the café will result in financial losses for the owners.
In addition to the café, a 2,295-square-metre plot of land allocated for a seasonal playground located nearby will also be demolished.
