Kyrgyzstan's GDP exceeded one trillion KGS, with the economy growing by 11%

According to preliminary data, Kyrgyzstan's gross domestic product in January–August amounted to 1 trillion 42.1 billion KGS. This is 11% more than in the same period last year.

The drivers were commodity production, services and net taxes on products.

  • Commodity-producing industries grew by 13.7%;
  • the service sector by 9.5%;
  • and net taxes on products by 10.8%.

Services continue to dominate the GDP structure (50.8%), although their share has decreased by 1.5 percentage points compared to last year. Conversely, the weight of commodity production increased to 33.4%, including construction (+1.4 p.p.) and industry (+1.1 p.p.). Agriculture showed moderate results, with its share even declining slightly (-0.3 p.p.).

By economic sector

  • Construction — growth of 34.8%, share in GDP increased to 7.5%;
  • Industry — growth of 11.6%, including manufacturing, which added 10.8%, and mining — 15.5%;
  • Trade — an increase of 17.1%, with its share in GDP rising to 16.1%;
  • Hotels and restaurants — +26.3%, reflecting a revival in tourism and related services;
  • Information and communications showed more modest growth of +6.5%.

The structure of GDP shows that services still account for half of the economy, while the agricultural sector, traditionally important for the regions, is gradually losing ground.
