The participants of the event - representatives of relevant ministries, scientific and expert organisations - discussed the prospects for the development of the common gas market of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) taking into account global changes in the energy sector. Special attention was paid to market mechanisms of gas trading, including the organisation of exchange trading.
‘In recent years, the energy industry has faced serious challenges and shocks of a global nature. Given these changes and in the interests of sustainable development of the Eurasian Economic Union, we should outline further steps and prospects for the development of the common gas market with a horizon until 2030,’ Arzybek Kozhoshev said.
Among the key areas of development of the EAEU common gas market, the participants highlighted infrastructure development, introduction of exchange mechanisms, expansion of the NGV market, as well as implementation of joint projects in gas chemistry and low-carbon technologies.
‘Today, in challenging economic conditions, it is important to unite joint efforts of the EAEU member states to effectively utilise the advantages of Eurasian integration,’ Kozhoshev stressed.
