The State Committee for National Security of the Kyrgyz Republic, with the participation of the Internal Affairs Ministry's Internal Security Service, detained Lieutenant U.O.Sh., a district inspector with the Osh City Police Department's GOM-3 unit, red-handed while receiving money.

It was established that the detainee, abusing his official position, systematically exerted pressure and threats against foreign citizens working in the Osh region. Knowing that they did not have permits to work and covering this up, he received monthly payments from them ranging from 5,000 to 20,000 KGS. If they refused, he threatened them with penalties and subsequent deportation.

As a result of the investigation, GOM-3 inspector, police lieutenant U.O.Sh., was detained and placed in the temporary detention facility of the State Committee for National Security of the Kyrgyz Republic.

The State Committee for National Security of the Kyrgyz Republic is currently continuing its investigation to identify other persons who may be involved in this crime and other facts of their illegal activities.
