07/06/2026, 12:05Staff at the Batken Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Natural Resources, Ecology and Technical Supervision have uncovered an incident of illegal hunting of a wild boar in the Kadamzhay District, which caused not only environmental but also economic damage.
According to the ministry, the offence was uncovered during a night-time raid carried out by staff from the Department of Specially Protected Natural Areas and Biodiversity as part of measures to protect flora and fauna. Such raids, the ministry states, are aimed at preventing the illegal use of natural resources and preserving the economic value of hunting grounds.
According to the ministry, a citizen, S.K., illegally hunted one wild boar without the necessary permits to hunt. The ministry notes that such cases result in direct financial losses for the state, as they undermine the system of paid nature use and reduce revenue from lawful hunting activities.
Administrative proceedings have been initiated against the offender. He has been fined 12,500 KGS. In addition, a claim for 50,000 KGS has been filed for damage caused to the environment, which together places a significant financial burden on the offender.
The Ministry of Natural Resources, Ecology and Technical Supervision reiterated that wild animals are protected by the state and form part of the country’s natural capital. The Ministry emphasised that illegal hunting harms not only biodiversity but also the region’s economy, incurring additional costs for nature conservation and the restoration of wildlife populations. Those who breach environmental legislation will be held accountable in accordance with the law.
