    More than half of the construction work on the Karakul HPP has been completed

    The construction of the small Karakul HPP is rapidly gaining momentum in the Jalal-Abad region. The facility is being built on the Kara-Suu River and will have a capacity of 18 MW with an average annual output of 110 million kWh.

    Construction is scheduled for completion in the first quarter of 2026. To date, the facility is 60% complete. Work is progressing rapidly, with OsOO Zhagalmai acting as the general contractor and investor.

    At present, the construction of the main water intake structure has been completed, with 2,905 cubic metres of reinforced concrete laid.

    The site for the open switchgear (OSG) has been prepared and a transformer has been installed. Installation of the remaining parts is underway.

    Construction of the pressure pipeline is also actively underway, with the excavation of the pressure water main 95% complete.

    The small hydropower plant will provide a reliable energy supply to the region and contribute to the development of renewable energy in the country.
