The opening of final bids for the reconstruction of the Lebedynivska Hydroelectric Power Plant has been completed

Chakan HPP has completed the selection process for the general contractor for the Lebedynivska HPP reconstruction project, according to the Ministry of Energy.

At this stage, the final bids have been opened and evaluated, and the results have been sent to the partner bank for approval.

The winning company will be authorised to carry out key construction, installation and technical work. The reconstruction of the Lebedinovskaya HPP is one of the priority projects of Chakan HPP OJSC and involves a large-scale upgrade of the station's infrastructure, equipment and control systems.

The project includes:

• modernisation of hydraulic structures;
• overhaul and renewal of generator equipment;
• introduction of modern automated control systems;
• improvement of the overall reliability and efficiency of the station.

Once the work is done, we're expecting a big improvement in production. Specifically, the installed capacity will go from 7.6 to 10 MW, and annual output will jump from the current 37.2 to 53.5 million kWh.

It should be recalled that on 14 April 2022, a memorandum was signed between the EBRD, the Ministry of Energy, the Ministry of Finance, the National Energy Holding and Chakan HPP OJSC, defining the framework and principles of cooperation on the modernisation of small hydropower facilities in the country.
