The building behind Bishkek City Hall may be partially demolished to open up a view of the mountains

The Mayor of Bishkek, Aibek Dzhunushaliyev, has suggested demolishing three storeys of the building located behind City Hall to open up a view of the mountains. He made this statement at a meeting of the Environmental Council.

He also reported that the city authorities have been in negotiations with the construction company for several months.

According to him, one of the options under consideration is the demolition of three storeys of the building. Once this has been done, the building should no longer block the view of the mountains.

However, the mayor noted that the building is privately owned, so the city cannot unilaterally decide to demolish it.

Furthermore, the property has two owners, and they must now reach an agreement. The city council is also proposing to consider the possibility of relocating part of the project to another site. However, a final decision has not yet been taken.
