01/12/2026, 10:29Only in three provinces of the republic do Kyrgyz people spend more time on average communicating than watching television. This is evidenced by data from the National Statistical Committee on time use.
The average amount of free time per day in Kyrgyzstan is 213 minutes. The figures vary from region to region. Residents of Naryn (248 minutes), Issyk-Kul (246 minutes) and Talas (244 minutes) regions have the most free time. Residents of Chui (179 minutes) and Jalal-Abad (187 minutes) regions have the least free time.
Residents of all regions spend most of this time on leisure and entertainment. On average, Kyrgyzstan residents spend 67 minutes a day watching television and 58 minutes socialising.
At the same time, residents of Naryn (96 minutes), Issyk-Kul (88 minutes) and Osh (74 minutes) regions spend more time communicating than watching television. The least talkative are the residents of Chui region, who spend only 30 minutes communicating.
The record holders for watching television are residents of the Talas region: they spend an average of 111 minutes a day on this activity.
