07/10/2026, 17:45The Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan has declared 1 September 2026 a public holiday for employees of state and municipal organisations in Bishkek that are funded from the state budget. The decision was taken in connection with events involving the heads of state of the SCO member states.
According to the resolution, the additional day off applies to staff of state and municipal organisations, institutions and enterprises in the capital that are funded from the state budget.
Employees will continue to receive their average daily wage. For staff of organisations with a continuous production cycle, remuneration will be paid in accordance with the Labour Code.
The Cabinet of Ministers has also recommended that the heads of private companies in Bishkek grant their staff a day off on 1 September, whilst maintaining their average daily
wage in KGS.
The additional day off has been introduced to reduce the strain on transport infrastructure and ensure public safety during the events involving the heads of state of the SCO member states.
