Kyrgyzstan to Auction 2-Year Treasury Bonds with 17% Coupon

On 16 June, an auction will be held in Kyrgyzstan to issue two-year government treasury bonds.

The government plans to issue bonds totalling 100 million KGS. The coupon rate on the securities will be 17% per annum.

The bond issue forms part of the government’s debt policy and enables it to raise funds to finance budgetary requirements.

Information on the terms of sale and the placement procedure has been published for potential investors and financial market participants ahead of the auction.

By way of comparison, the proposed yield of 17% per annum significantly exceeds current rates on most bank deposits; however, the income from the bonds is fixed for the entire two-year term.
