6 tonnes of rice from Kazakhstan were refused entry into Kyrgyzstan

At the ‘Ak-Zhol’ phytosanitary checkpoint on the Kyrgyz-Kazakh border, officials identified irregularities during the import of a 6-tonne consignment of rice from Kazakhstan. The inspection took place on 1 June as part of quarantine and phytosanitary controls.

According to the Department of Plant Protection, Quarantine and Chemical Control under the Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture and Processing Industry, the information in the phytosanitary certificate did not match the details specified in the accompanying transport documents.

As a result, the consignment was returned to the sender. The decision was taken in accordance with the rules governing the implementation of phytosanitary quarantine controls within the customs territory of the Eurasian Economic Union.
