Study: 63% of Kyrgyzstan residents plan to give gifts on March 8

Most Kyrgyzstan residents plan to celebrate March 8 and are preparing to buy gifts. This is evidenced by the results of a consumer sentiment survey conducted by the Wildberries marketplace among active users of the platform in the country.

According to the survey, 72% of respondents noted that the holiday is widely celebrated in their circle, 71% intend to celebrate it in 2026, and only 10% reported that this date is not celebrated in their circle.

63% of men and 69% of women plan to give gifts on March 8. Most often, they are prepared for mothers — 84% among men and 83% among women. Other recipients include spouses, significant others, sisters, and daughters.

Almost half of those surveyed — 49% — expect to spend between 2,000 and 6,000 KGS. The median budget is about 5,000 KGS. Another 21% plan to spend up to 2,000 KGS, and 30% are willing to spend more than 6,000 KGS.

The most popular gift categories remain flowers (57%), cosmetics (49%), and perfumes (38%). Home goods, confectionery, clothing and accessories, jewelry, electronics, and books are also in demand.

At the same time, women's expectations generally coincide with consumer preferences: flowers, cosmetics, perfumes, clothing, and jewelry are most often mentioned among desired gifts.

In terms of age structure, most of the survey participants are people between the ages of 18 and 54. Women made up 60% of the study's audience, while men made up 40%.

Analysts note that March 8 remains one of the holidays with a lasting impact on consumer behavior, generating significant seasonal demand.
