‘ABank’ has been brought into the discussions on securing fuel supplies for Kyrgyzstan

Representatives of the state-owned ‘ABank’ took part in a Cabinet of Ministers meeting on ensuring the supply of fuel and lubricants to the population and businesses in Kyrgyzstan. The meeting took place on 4 September at ‘Yntymak Ordo’.

The meeting was chaired by the Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Water Resources, Agriculture and the Processing Industry, Erlist Akunbekov.

In addition to ‘ABank’, the meeting was attended by deputy heads of the Ministry of Energy and representatives of companies supplying petroleum products.

The parties discussed the current situation in the petroleum products market and issues relating to the country’s fuel and lubricants supply. Following the meeting, relevant instructions were issued to state bodies and organisations.

However, the press release does not specify ‘ABank’s’ role in resolving issues relating to fuel and lubricant supplies. Nor does it clarify exactly what instructions the bank received or whether they relate to the financing of imports or to suppliers of petroleum products.
