    Adylbek Kasymaliyev and Mikhail Mishustin discussed issues in the trade, economic, transport, and logistics sectors

    Prime Minister Adylbek Kasymaliyev met with Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, who arrived in the country on an official visit.

    The head of the Cabinet warmly welcomed the Russian Prime Minister and members of the Russian delegation on the shores of the pearl of Central Asia, Lake Issyk-Kul, noting that this was the first official visit by the President of the Russian Federation to Kyrgyzstan since 2016.

    "It is symbolic that your visit coincides with the 25th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration on Eternal Friendship, Alliance, and Partnership between our countries. This document has become a solid foundation for modern Kyrgyz-Russian interstate relations. I am very pleased to note that Russia is a reliable ally and strategic partner of Kyrgyzstan. The presidents of our countries, who have established personal relations of trust, undoubtedly play a key role in the steady development of our relations. Thanks to their firm will, our countries continue to consistently strengthen ties in various fields and look to the future of our cooperation with optimism,“ he said.

    Adylbek Kasymaliyev continued that the high dynamics of interstate contacts fully correspond to the spirit of ”deepened alliance and strategic partnership."

    The Prime Minister emphasized that positive dynamics are observed in the trade and economic sphere.

    Last year, the volume of trade reached $3.9 billion. In the first five months of this year, trade grew by 16% to $1.3 billion.

    "We are confidently approaching the $5 billion mark. Russia is traditionally the largest investor in Kyrgyzstan, and the contribution of its business community to the country's economy is steadily growing. Our countries cooperate in various sectors, including finance, industry, agriculture, energy, transport, education, and the digital sphere. The Russian-Kyrgyz Development Fund is actively involved in joint projects with its own resources, with more than 3,000 projects worth over $900 million already implemented throughout the republic," he said.

    The Prime Minister also noted that this year, with the support of Russia, it is planned to open a Kyrgyz House of Science and Culture in Moscow.

    In turn, Mikhail Mishustin expressed his gratitude for the traditional hospitality and warm welcome.

    He noted that effective cooperation is developing between the two countries in a wide range of areas, in particular, trade, economic, cultural, and humanitarian cooperation is developing successfully, and the volume of investment in Kyrgyzstan is increasing.

    The head of government emphasized Russia's commitment to further deepening cooperation with Kyrgyzstan, including within the framework of the Eurasian Economic Union, expressing confidence that the joint projects being implemented will bring tangible benefits to the citizens of both countries.

    During the talks, the sides discussed a wide range of issues in the trade, economic, transport, logistics, cultural, humanitarian, and pharmaceutical sectors.
