07/26/2025, 17:41Under the leadership of Deputy Prime Minister Bakyt Torobaev, meetings were held in the Issyk-Kul region to determine priority areas for the development of the Ak-Suu and Tyup districts within the framework of the National Development Programme of Kyrgyzstan until 2030.
During working meetings with representatives of local authorities and relevant ministries, an analysis of the current socio-economic situation in the districts was conducted. The main focus was on developing action plans that will enable the regions to realise their potential in key sectors: agriculture, manufacturing, tourism, mining and green energy.
"The success of the National Programme is impossible without the active participation of the regions. Local authorities must become drivers of economic growth at the local level," Torobaev stressed, noting that Kyrgyzstan faces the task of entering the top 30 countries in terms of implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and climbing 10 positions in the Human Development Index (HDI).
According to him, the Ak-Suu district will prioritise infrastructure development, the creation of a sustainable economy and income growth through investment in industry and agriculture. The Tyup district should focus on agro-processing, tourism development and the modernisation of social infrastructure.
Following the meetings, local government authorities were instructed to finalise action plans for the development of the districts, focusing on investment projects that may be of interest to both public and private investors. Among the proposed areas are the creation of regional business hubs, the development of logistics and the introduction of green energy technologies.
