Kyrgyzstan is becoming a logistics hub

Kyrgyzstan is demonstrating steady growth in the transport sector, outperforming the average figures for the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU). This is evidenced by data from the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) for the first five months of 2025.

Passenger traffic in the republic grew by 5.6%, while the average growth for the union was 2.8%. An even more significant increase was recorded in freight traffic — +10.8% against a modest 0.5% for the EAEU as a whole.

Experts note that Kyrgyzstan is becoming an important link in Eurasian logistics chains. The growing interest in freight transport to the republic was evident at the beginning of the year, when demand for import transport doubled in the first quarter.

Among the EAEU countries, Kazakhstan also showed the highest growth rates in freight transport (+13.6%), while Armenia rounded out the top three with a symbolic increase of 0.1%. At the same time, Russia did not demonstrate any dynamics in this sector during the reporting period.
