11/06/2026, 12:28The powers of Kyrgyzstan’s Antimonopoly Service have been expanded. The agency will now assess how the provision of government preferences, aid, and subsidies affects competition in specific industries.
The relevant changes were introduced by Cabinet of Ministers Resolution No. 736 dated November 4, 2026. This was reported in the newspaper “Erkin Too.”
According to the document, the Antimonopoly Service will also review companies’ internal policies on establishing systems to comply with antimonopoly legislation and issue opinions on their compliance with established requirements.
In addition, the agency will review applications regarding mergers, acquisitions, and corporate reorganizations, the establishment of joint ventures, as well as the acquisition of shares and stock, if such transactions could affect competition.
At the same time, state aid will be assessed in cases where its total amount exceeds the established minimum threshold.
The resolution also repeals a number of previously existing regulatory acts, including the rules for maintaining the state register of companies holding a dominant position in commodity markets, which were approved in 2015.
The new amendments will take effect seven days after their official publication.
