11/05/2025, 16:25The Kyrgyzstan Chamber of Accounts found that, as of the end of 2024, there were violations amounting to 259.2 million KGS in the Ministry of Energy's system. The bulk of this amount—246.8 million KGS—is related to late payment for electricity by Kumtor Gold Company.
According to the auditors, there were long-standing outstanding payments for energy supplied between OJSC National Electric Grid Company (NESC) and CJSC Kumtor Gold Company.
Later, during the audit, Kumtor Gold Company paid NESC the full amount of 246.8 million KGS, settling the debt. Thus, most of the identified violations were eliminated.
