The Department of Fisheries has begun implementing measures for the artificial reproduction of fish stocks in state-owned fishing reservoirs for 2025–2026.
The state-owned enterprise Son-Kul Fish Farm has carried out important measures. In the incubation workshop located in the village of Epkin in the Kochkor district, 2.4 million pieces of whitefish roe were obtained and placed in special incubation devices.
This work is aimed at developing the country's fisheries, preserving and increasing the population of valuable fish species, and maintaining the ecological balance in water bodies. Artificial reproduction will not only restore natural resources, but also increase fish production in the future.
The department notes that the programme for 2025-2026 is aimed at expanding the biological potential of the fishing industry and ensuring the sustainable operation of state-owned fish farming enterprises.
Artificial reproduction of fish stocks is an important part of the effective use of water resources and ensuring the country's environmental security. It is expected that as a result of the measures taken, the number of fish in the reservoirs and lakes of Kyrgyzstan will increase significantly.
