Motorists received “letters of happiness” worth 1.3 billion KGS from the Safe City system

Kyrgyz drivers continue to receive more and more “letters of happiness” — revenue from fines issued by “Safe City” cameras has almost doubled.

From January to October this year, motorists paid 1 billion 303.4 million KGS to the budget. For comparison, during the same period in 2024, the state treasury received 778 million 328.25 thousand KGS. The increase is 525 million KGS, or 67%.

The amount is significantly higher even taking into account the fact that, in addition to the main fines, drivers in 2024 transferred another 15.1 million KGS in penalties and financial sanctions to the budget. This year, there is no such item in the budget.
