Bill on testing drivers on the spot using tablets withdrawn from the Jogorku Kenesh

The Ministry of Internal Affairs will withdraw from the Jogorku Kenesh a bill providing for the testing of drivers who have violated traffic rules directly on the spot using tablets.

The relevant instruction was given by Kyrgyz President Sadyr Zhaparov. The decision was made taking into account critical comments made by the public regarding this initiative.

This was announced on his Facebook page by the press secretary of the head of state, Askat Alagozov.

The bill proposed introducing a practice whereby drivers who violated traffic rules would have to take a test on their knowledge of traffic rules right at the scene of the violation. However, the initiative sparked heated debate and criticism from the public.

As a result, it was decided to return the document for further revision.
