Fire in the “Dordoy” residential complex; warehouses burned, but markets were not damaged

On the evening of October 22, a fire broke out in some warehouse buildings on Ibraimova Street in Bishkek, across from the “Dzhunhai” market. The fire has been extinguished. The “Dordoy” and “Dzhunhai” markets were not affected, Bakyt Namazov, a representative of the markets, told “Akchabar.”

According to him, the fire engulfed the area where the warehouses and stores are located but did not reach the “Dzhunhai” market. Namazov denied reports that the markets themselves had caught fire.

According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, fire crews arrived at the scene at 7:41 p.m. Eight fire crews were deployed to extinguish the blaze.

The area was cordoned off. More than 200 police officers ensured security and public order.

A preliminary investigation into the fire has been launched. The causes and circumstances of the fire are being determined.
