11/21/2025, 09:17The Asian Development Bank has confirmed plans to allocate more than $10 billion by 2030 to projects in the Central Asia Regional Economic Cooperation (CAREC) countries. The funds will be used to develop transport, trade, and digitalization, as well as to strengthen regional connectivity and sustainability.
The decision was announced at the 24th CAREC Ministerial Conference, where countries in the region supported the renewal of key strategies until 2030. Priorities include infrastructure modernization, green technology development, reduction of trade barriers, and improvement of border procedures.
CAREC brings together the countries of Central Asia, the Caucasus, East Asia, and South Asia. Since 2001, more than $54 billion worth of projects have been implemented under the program, with the ADB remaining its main partner and Secretariat. The next Ministerial Conference will be held in Mongolia in 2026.
