08/24/2026, 10:19As at the end of the reporting period, commercial banks and credit institutions in Kyrgyzstan had extended 677 billion 439.4 million KGS in loans to economic entities. This is according to data from the National Statistical Committee.
Commercial banks accounted for 601 billion 966.5 million KGS in loans, whilst credit organisations issued a further 75 billion 472.9 million KGS. Of this total, 581 billion 644.2 million KGS in bank loans and 68 billion 321.2 million KGS in loans from credit institutions are current, meaning they are not in arrears.
The volume of overdue loans in commercial banks amounted to 20,322.3 KGS, and in credit institutions — 7,151.8 KGS. Thus, the total amount of overdue loans to the economy reached 27,474.1 KGS.
Within the structure of bank loans, long-term loans with a maturity of more than three years account for the largest share — 357 billion 353.4 million KGS. Medium-term loans with a maturity of between one and three years amounted to 187 billion 385.9 million KGS, whilst short-term loans with a maturity of up to one year totalled 57 billion 227.2 million KGS.
For credit institutions, the volume of long-term loans amounted to 19 billion 882.1 million KGS, medium-term loans to 33 billion 193.7 million KGS, and short-term loans to 22 billion 397.1 million KGS.
