08/24/2026, 10:03Enterprises in Kyrgyzstan’s financial sector generated profits of 22 billion 637.6 million KGS in January–June 2026. This is according to data from the National Statistical Committee.
There were a total of 484 enterprises in the sector. Of these, 302 made a profit totalling 23 billion 255 million KGS. Eighty-six enterprises made a loss, with their combined losses amounting to 617.5 million KGS. A further 96 enterprises reported a break-even result.
Commercial banks accounted for the lion’s share of the profit – 18 billion 40.1 million KGS. Of the 29 banks, 23 made a profit, accounting for 18 billion 257.6 million KGS in profit, whilst five banks incurred a combined loss of 217.5 million KGS.
Insurance companies earned 790.4 million KGS, whilst credit institutions earned 3 billion 807.1 million KGS. However, four insurance companies and 77 credit institutions operated at a loss.
Operating banks recorded a profit of 18 billion 2.1 million KGS in the first half of the year, whilst banks whose licences had been revoked and which were in the process of liquidation recorded a profit of 38 million KGS despite everything.
