No warning: 450 garages threatened with demolition

The owners of 450 garages on Osmonkula Street, 2/1, were faced with the fact that a 0.82-hectare plot of land had been transferred to the state and their private ownership had been terminated. According to the garage owners, none of them had been notified in advance of the decision.

The situation affected members of the Transport Drivers' Union, who owned these garages. The owners claim that the chairman of the organisation did not inform the union members about the transfer of land to the state. Most of them found out about what was happening after the fact, when they were required to vacate the premises urgently. Now the drivers are hurriedly removing their personal belongings, and the garages may be demolished.

According to the documents, the private property deed was terminated on 14 February 2025. The participants believe that the union's leadership made the decision behind their backs, which, in their opinion, violates the organisation's charter.

The protesters are demanding an investigation into the situation and have already sent appeals to the Presidential Administration, the Prosecutor General's Office and the State Security Committee.

Watch our video to find out why the conflict arose and what the drivers are demanding.
