09/19/2024, 09:30“Safe City” within the framework of the “Smart City” project goes to the Ministry of Internal Affairs. The President has signed the relevant decree.
According to the decree, the Ministry of Digital Development must transfer the system to the Ministry of Internal Affairs within ten days. The state-owned Infocom enterprise under the Ministry of Digital Development has been appointed as the technical operator of the system.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs, in addition to taking over the system, is obliged to ensure organizational and financial measures for its further operation. The Prosecutor General's Office will transfer to the archives the databases of all violations recorded since February 1, 2023. Also, together with the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Ministry of Digital Development, uninterrupted operation of the system for processing offences will be provided.
The Cabinet of Ministers, in its turn, is to approve the new procedure for the formation and use of fines collected for violations recorded by the system within ten days. It also provides for financing the technical maintenance of the AIS “Safe City” within the republican budget framework.
The decree amends the previous presidential decree on digital transformation, which items were recognized as invalid and will be updated following the new decisions.
