‘Bishkek Arena’ has been featured on an international architecture page with nearly 2 million followers

The ‘Bishkek Arena’ architectural project has caught the attention of one of the most popular international architecture pages — Architecture Hub, which has an audience of nearly 2 million followers.

According to Bishkekglavarhitektura, the platform – which publishes content on outstanding buildings, unusual structures, street art, sculpture and design from around the world – has featured an article on the stadium currently under construction in Kyrgyzstan.

The article notes that the concept of the ‘Bishkek Arena’ is based on the image of a traditional Kyrgyz yurt. The circular shape of the structure, as well as its red-and-white façade featuring elements of national ornamentation, reflect a reinterpretation of traditional heritage within the context of a modern sports venue.

Once construction is complete, the stadium will have a capacity of 51,000 spectators and will become one of the largest sports venues in Central Asia.

The complex is planned to include retail space, food courts, business areas and a car park with space for over 2,000 vehicles.

The post has generated considerable interest among users from various countries. Commentators have highlighted the scale of the project, the originality of the architectural concept and the blend of national motifs with contemporary design solutions.
