Bishkek will allocate 345 million KGS for the repair of three key overpasses

Plans are underway in Bishkek to renovate three key overpasses at once. The Capital Construction Department of the City Hall has announced a procurement contract worth over 345.6 million KGS.

The project involves repairing the interchanges at the intersections of Chingiz Aitmatov and Lev Tolstoy Streets, and Jusup Abdrakhmanov and Lev Tolstoy Streets, as well as the overpass on Vasilyevsky Trakt near the northern bypass road. The tender was published on April 21, and bids from contractors are being accepted until April 24.

The work is divided into three lots. The largest—repair of the Aitmatov–Tolstoy overpass—is estimated at nearly 165 million KGS. Approximately 113 million KGS is planned for the renovation of the Abdrakhmanov–Tolstoy interchange, and another 67.5 million KGS for the overpass on Vasilyevsky Trakt.

All work must be completed by August 31 of this year, though contractors are permitted to deliver the projects ahead of schedule.

The procurement is being conducted via a request for quotations with qualification requirements. Participants must provide a bid bond equal to 2% of the bid amount, as well as a performance bond of 3%.

Quality control and testing will be carried out by the City Hall’s Construction Supervision Department itself. If defects are discovered, the contractor is required to remedy them within five days of receiving a claim.
