Bishkek is phasing out paper utility bills entirely

Bishkek City Council has decided to phase out paper bills – payment for utility services will move entirely to a digital format.

Bishkek City Council, in collaboration with utility services, is launching a phased roll-out of digital bills for utility payments across the city: the decision was taken to simplify payments and digitise processes, and will be implemented by merging databases and creating a single payment document.

The decision was taken as part of the implementation of a protocol instruction from the Presidential Administration regarding the transition to digital bills for utility payments.

A single bill combining several services is already in use in the city — now the authorities are taking the next step by completely phasing out paper.
