09/21/2026, 11:22Kyrgyzstan’s GDP grew by 11 per cent in January–August 2026 compared with the same period last year. Investment has been one of the key drivers of growth, with the volume increasing by 61.2 per cent year-on-year.
Domestic demand is providing further support to the economy. Retail trade grew by 14.9 per cent, whilst the volume of hotel and restaurant services rose by 9.1 per cent year-on-year.
However, economic growth is accompanied by rising inflationary pressure. In August, consumer prices rose by 12 per cent year-on-year, compared with 11.5 per cent in July.
According to the Eurasian Development Bank, investment and domestic demand will continue to be among the main drivers of Kyrgyzstan’s economic growth.
