Bishkek strengthens its dominance in the labour market

In the first quarter of 2026, Kyrgyzstan’s labour market continued to shift towards the capital. Bishkek accounts for 92.5% of all vacancies posted on the hh.kg platform. This figure has risen by 4% over the past year.

Osh remains in second place in terms of the number of vacancies, with a 3.2% share, although employer activity there has fallen by 7.2%. Jalal-Abad is showing moderate growth of +0.9%, with a 1.1% share.

At the same time, a number of cities are showing localised growth. In Kant, the number of vacancies increased by 19.1%, in Balykchy by 13.3%, and in Tokmok by 6.3%. Despite this positive trend, their contribution to the overall picture remains insignificant.

A decline in employer activity is observed in Karakol (–32.9%), Naryn (–17.9%) and Sokuluk (–25%). The most significant drop was recorded in Kara-Balta (–54.5%) and Talas (–44.1%).
