‘Bishkekzelenkhoz’ illegally felled trees: it has been fined

A case of illegal felling of trees in Bishkek was uncovered following a report on social media. The municipal enterprise ‘Bishkekzelenkhoz’ has been fined 17,000 KGS.

The inspection was carried out by the Regional Directorate of the Environmental and Technical Supervision Service for the city of Bishkek and the Alamudun District, under the Ministry of Natural Resources.

Inspectors visited Zhukeev-Pudovkin Street following information posted on Instagram and confirmed the illegal felling of trees.

Following the findings of the inspection, administrative measures were taken against the municipal enterprise ‘BZH’.

In Bishkek, issues relating to the preservation of green spaces regularly attract public attention. Residents frequently draw the authorities’ attention to instances of tree felling via social media.

The Ministry of Natural Resources reminds citizens of the need to report instances of illegal tree felling. Measures are taken in accordance with the law in response to any violations identified.
