07/22/2026, 16:42Citizens of Kyrgyzstan with disabilities are entitled to receive a wheelchair free of charge for a period of five years. Since the start of 2026, 257 assistive devices have been provided to people with disabilities through local authorities.
The right to receive a wheelchair is granted to citizens with disabilities subject to a decision by the Medical and Social Expert Commission.
Free wheelchairs are provided to people with disabilities from the age of 3 for permanent use both at home and outside the home.
To apply, you must contact your local authority and submit an application form and a copy of the MSEC report.
The procedure for the provision of wheelchairs was approved by a Cabinet of Ministers resolution dated 23 May 2023. In 2026, citizens were provided with adult wheelchairs, multifunctional children’s models, as well as rehabilitation aids received as part of humanitarian aid.
