07/22/2026, 17:30Between January and May 2026, Kyrgyzstan exported tobacco products worth $203,200, which is almost half the figure for the same period last year. Export volumes fell by 66.5 per cent.
According to statistics from the National Statistics Committee, 1.3 million units of tobacco products were exported from Kyrgyzstan in the first five months of 2026. In value terms, exports totalled $203,200.
A year earlier, during the same period, the country exported 3.9 million units of tobacco products worth $407,200.
The greatest growth in shipments was recorded to China and Canada. Exports to China rose to 11.4 thousand units, which is 1.4 times last year’s volume, whilst the value of shipments increased almost eightfold — to 175.3 thousand KGS.
At the same time, exports to the US virtually ceased: whilst goods worth $372,600 were exported there in January–May 2025, there were no exports in 2026.
The decline in exports is linked to changes in shipment volumes to specific destinations. The bulk of exports in 2026 went to unspecified countries — 1.1 million units worth 16.1 million KGS.
