01/13/2026, 16:46On 25 December 2025, the Leninsky District Court of Bishkek found former State Tax Service (STS) chairman Altynbek Abdyvappov and two of his subordinates guilty of abuse of office. This was reported by the press service of the Bishkek City Court.
Abdyvappov is the former head of the STS, who was previously detained in connection with a major corruption case involving electronic consignment notes and abuse in the supply of excisable goods. According to the State Committee for National Security, the damage to the budget as a result of the schemes is estimated at billions of KGS.
The court fined Abdyvapov 4,000 calculation indices (400,000 KGS) and deprived him of the right to hold certain positions and engage in certain activities. He was also stripped of his state awards and special titles.
His former deputy in the tax service, K.I.N., was found guilty and fined 3,000 calculation indices (300,000 KGS) with a similar deprivation of the right to work in public office.
The court fined the third defendant, T.A.A., 3,300 calculation indices (330,000 KGS) and deprived him of the right to hold certain positions, as provided for by the court decision.
Earlier, Abdyvapov and his deputy were detained in a case of corruption and abuse of power in the State Tax Service. According to the investigation, Abdyvapov had assets worth about $55 million, the origin of which raised questions among law enforcement agencies.
