The Ministry of Transport of the Kyrgyz Republic reported that the transition to cashless payments was initiated to improve service quality, eliminate the human factor and prevent corruption. Earlier, Minister Absattar Syrgabaev instructed the management of the Production and Innovation Centre to quickly switch to modern payment methods, eliminating cash payments.
Drivers can now pay using QR codes, on-site terminals or mobile apps with e-wallets. The widespread introduction of the system has made it possible to optimise the number of staff at checkpoints.
In addition, to prevent traffic jams, the lanes at Sosnovka and Kara-Kole have been widened and two additional lanes have been put into operation.
