Restrictions on heavy goods vehicles in Bishkek: restrictions remain in force until 1 October

Temporary restrictions on the movement of heavy goods vehicles on municipal roads in Bishkek remain in force.

From 20 May to 1 October 2026, whenever the daily air temperature reaches 28°C or higher, the movement of lorries with a maximum gross weight of 18 tonnes or more will be restricted daily from 09:00 to 19:00.

The restrictions have been introduced to improve road safety, preserve municipal roads and extend their service life.

Compliance with the established requirements is monitored by the Patrol Service Department of the Bishkek City Police Headquarters and the Municipal Inspectorate of Bishkek City Council.

Bishkek City Council asks drivers and transport companies to take the current restrictions into account when planning routes, to comply with the established requirements and, where possible, to reschedule the movement of heavy goods vehicles to times when the restrictions are not in force.
