Officials in the Suzak district illegally sold plots of land for 1.5 million KGS

In the Suzak district of the Jalal-Abad region, the State Committee for National Security of the Kyrgyz Republic (SCNS) stopped a scheme involving the illegal sale of land for individual housing construction. An official and his accomplice sold plots of land in the village of Blagoveshchanskaya using forged resolutions of the aiyl okmotu (local council).

According to the State Committee for National Security, the director of the municipal enterprise ‘Suzak Tazalyk Komu’ M.I., together with his accomplice S.N., offered citizens a quick way to obtain a plot of land for building a house. In reality, however, the transactions were based on forged official documents.

Each plot was sold at a price ranging from 700,000 to 1.5 million KGS. People paid real money, unaware that they were purchasing land that had been registered in violation of the law and risked being left with nothing.

To conceal the fraud, attempts were made to legalise the plots through land amnesty commissions. This mechanism, intended to help citizens, was in fact used as a tool to legalise illegal transactions.

Both suspects have been detained and placed in the SIZO GKNB KR. The investigation is establishing exactly how many plots were sold and for what amount, as well as checking the possible involvement of other persons.
