02/06/2026, 13:27In 2024, total electricity consumption within the Kyrgyz Republic amounted to 15 billion 654.3 million kWh, including electricity supplied to the population. This is evidenced by data on the consumption of fuel and energy resources by type of economic activity.
The largest volume of electricity consumption was in manufacturing — 1.38 billion kWh, which is about 8.8% of the total volume. Significant figures were also recorded in the information and communications sector (656.2 million kWh, or 4.2%), mineral extraction (412.2 million kWh, or 2.6%) and public administration and defence (381.1 million kWh, or 2.4%).
Other major consumers included water supply, waste treatment and processing (274.5 million kWh), agriculture, forestry and fishing (246.1 million kWh), and real estate operations (191.7 million kWh).
Healthcare and social services consumed 160.1 million kWh, and education consumed 138.5 million kWh. The lowest volumes of electricity were recorded in other service activities — 6.5 million kWh and administrative and support activities — 16.8 million kWh.
