    The number of cars in Kyrgyzstan has tripled in 12 years. The most rapid growth has been in the Naryn region

    According to data from the State Agency for Vehicle Registration, between 2012 and 2024, the number of registered passenger cars owned by individuals in Kyrgyzstan increased more than threefold, from 384,500 to 1.25 million vehicles.

    The most rapid growth was recorded in the Naryn region. While in 2012 there were 5,141 cars registered here, by 2024 there were already more than 34,938. The average annual growth since 2012 has been more than 21.77%.

    Next are:

    • Batken region – +19.36% on average since 2012;
    • Talas region – +18.22%;
    • Jalal-Abad region – +14.67%;
    • Osh region – +14.53%.

    At the same time, over the year from 2023 to 2024, the number of passenger cars grew the most in the Naryn (+23.1%) and Talas (+14.84%) regions. The lowest growth for the year was observed in Bishkek (+2.17%) and Osh (+3.25%), which can be explained by the already high saturation of motor vehicles in these cities since the beginning of the observation period.

    Despite the fact that the highest growth was recorded in the Naryn region, most cars are still registered in Bishkek (326,200) and the Chui region (265,400).
