What are they planning to install in place of the old arch in Balykchy?

The city of Balykchy on the shores of Issyk-Kul is undergoing a large-scale reconstruction aimed at developing its tourist and commercial infrastructure. This was announced by the head of the information policy service of the Kyrgyz Republic's presidential administration, Dayyrbek Orunbekov.

According to him, the projects cover key points of the city. It is planned to renovate the entrance arch, where the symbol ‘White Steamboat’ will be installed and a photo zone will be created. A modern fish market is also being built to replace the old trading point by the road, as well as a new bus station with parking for more than 200 taxis and dozens of buses. As part of the comprehensive reconstruction, old pillars along the main road are being dismantled, flower beds, bike paths and sidewalks are appearing, and new service and entertainment centres and parks are being built.

According to Orunbekov, the completion of all projects will allow Balykchy to become a modern economic and tourist centre of the Issyk-Kul region.
