The meeting agenda included over 20 topical issues covering key areas of activity of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU). As before, the Kyrgyz side is actively involved in the development of integration processes within the Union.
One of the central points was the approval of the report on the implementation of the Main Directions of the EAEU's International Activities for 2024. The document analyzes the results of cooperation with international and regional organizations, as well as with third countries. The strengthening of the Union's position in the international arena was noted.
Significant changes were made to the technical regulations “On the safety of natural gas.” Gas used for the internal needs of organizations, as well as foreign gas transiting through the territory of the Union to third countries, was excluded from the scope of the document. This decision is aimed at reducing the administrative burden and removing barriers to business.
The Council also approved amendments to the Rules for Determining the Country of Origin of Certain Types of Goods for Public Procurement. This will ensure clearer application of the national regime and strengthen economic integration within the procurement policies of member states.
Particular attention was paid to issues of economic cooperation in the field of sports. The Council approved a draft document defining the main areas of cooperation, including the development of human resources and the promotion of trade in goods and services related to sport.
During the meeting, Belarus proposed holding the third CIS-EAEU Youth Forum in the third quarter of this year. The event will be held on the sidelines of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council meeting and will be a continuation of the forum, which was first held in Kyrgyzstan in 2022 in the city of Cholpon-Ata.
