06/01/2026, 12:17The volume of deposits in Kyrgyzstan’s commercial banks stood at 916.5 billion KGS at the end of the first quarter of 2026. These preliminary figures have been released by the National Bank.
The bulk of deposits is traditionally concentrated in Bishkek. The capital accounts for 790.7 billion KGS, or around 86.3% of the total volume of deposits in the country’s banking system.
Among the regions, the largest volume of deposits was recorded in the Osh region — 32 billion KGS. This is followed by the Jalal-Abad region with 28.6 billion KGS and the Chui region with 27.8 billion KGS. In the Issyk-Kul region, deposits amounted to 18.5 billion KGS, in the Batken region — 8.2 billion KGS, in the Talas region — 6.8 billion KGS, and in the Naryn region — 3.9 billion KGS. Thus, the bank savings of the population and businesses remain concentrated predominantly in Bishkek.
