The deputy proposed paying a one-time allowance to all pregnant women

Nurjamal Torobekova proposed introducing a one-time allowance for all pregnant women, regardless of whether they have official employment or land shares. She presented this initiative on February 25 at a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh.

According to the deputy, currently, payments are mainly received by women who have official jobs, are registered as individual entrepreneurs, or own land shares. At the same time, women without official employment are left without support.

“I propose to consider the issue of providing a one-time allowance to all pregnant women — regardless of their employment status and land ownership — on the basis of a doctor's certificate. Even if the amount is small, it will be a significant support for mothers,” Torobekova said.

The deputy stressed that the payment process could be simplified by making a medical certificate of pregnancy the basis for receiving it.
