05/13/2026, 17:29The Ministry of Science, Higher Education and Innovation of Kyrgyzstan has approved the admission procedure for applicants to vocational colleges for the 2026/27 academic year.
Under the new rules, particular attention is paid to ensuring access to education for socially vulnerable groups. People with disabilities, orphans, children of those killed in the April, June and Batken events, as well as kayrilmans, will be eligible to apply under preferential terms.
As reported by the Ministry, the enrolment of applicants after Year 11 into state-funded and contract-based places will be based on the results of this year’s national testing (ORT).
Exceptions will be made for specialisations in the fields of culture, the arts, physical education and sport.
Furthermore, in each round of admissions, applicants will be able to submit one application to compete for a state grant or voucher and one application for contract-based study.
A separate admissions plan is also in place for foreign nationals, taking into account licensing regulations. Citizens of Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan will be able to compete for state educational grants on equal terms under international agreements.
Applications will be submitted via the ‘Abiturient Online’ electronic system.
The Ministry noted that the new measures are aimed at increasing the transparency and accessibility of the admissions process within the secondary vocational education system.
