Farmers have received only 31.6% of the low-cost diesel fuel allocated by the state.

At a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh committee, it was announced that farmers had received only 31.6% of the low-cost fuel allocated from the Material Reserves Fund for this year’s spring field work.

Deputy Minister of Agriculture Mirbek Duisheev, who presented a report on spring field work at the meeting, stated that, according to estimates, 42,000 tonnes of diesel fuel and 10,000 tonnes of petrol will be required for spring ploughing in 2026.

To provide farmers with cheap fuel, 7,000 tonnes of diesel fuel were allocated from the State Material Reserves Fund. At the start of the year, this diesel fuel was distributed at a price of 74 KGS. Now, due to rising prices, it is being distributed at a price of 81 KGS.

At the meeting, MP Nilufar Alimzhanova asked why the ministry’s report stated that only 31.6% of the diesel fuel allocated by the state at a low price had reached farmers.

According to Duishayev, the low-cost diesel fuel was supplied to farmers via ‘Red Petroleum’ petrol stations. However, such stations are not available in all regions. As a result, farmers were able to purchase fuel from the nearest sources without having to travel an extra 20–30 kilometres.

He stated that there is a shortage of Red Petroleum petrol stations in Naryn and remote areas.

The MP noted that there should be no issues with farmers being unable to purchase diesel fuel due to a lack of petrol stations, and demanded that such matters be resolved in advance in future.

Duisheev stated that next year they would increase the volume of cheap diesel fuel allocated for spring field work and would sign contracts with other companies to guarantee its full delivery to farmers.
